Our Story

Before the aisle, there was a whole universe.

I.

The Meeting

It began the way the best things do — quietly. Paths crossed through a mutual friend, an evangelism meet-up, and conversations that refused to end. He says he always found her beauty captivating. She says he made an awesome friend — at first.

II.

The Falling

Months of strolls around Uniben campus. A friendship that astounded — in every difference of opinion, in the collective beauty of two minds. Emails and calls exchanged like two people struck by Cupid. Somewhere between the ordinary days, the extraordinary happened — they became inseparable.

III.

The Yes

One knee. One ring. One word she'd been holding onto for years. And now — one date, circled in rose, where every road they've ever taken finally meets.

I have found the one whom my soul loves.

— Song of Solomon 3:4

Act I

Noir

Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds.
O no! it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken.
— Shakespeare, Sonnet 116

Just because we love culture this much — and because, for the longest time, the bride claimed to be “Aliyah” from Kaduna. She is not.
